Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #14 -11 -241 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING AWARD OF CONTRACT <br />FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 14 -27; MISSISSIPPI RIVER TRAIL — <br />RIVERDALE DRIVE TO ARMSTRONG BOULEVARD <br />WHEREAS, on March 25th, 2014, the City Council approved proceeding with advance <br />construction for portions of the Mississippi River Trail through the City of Ramsey; and <br />WHEREAS, on June 24th, 2014, the City Council approved continuing to proceed with <br />advance construction of the portion of the Mississippi River Trail through the Riverdale Drive <br />Extension /Reconstruction project. <br />WHEREAS, bids were received, opened, and tabulated on October 21, 2014, and the <br />following bids were found to comply with the advertisement for bids; and <br />BIDDING CONTRACTOR <br />TOTAL BID <br />North Valley Inc. <br />$183 <br />Park Construction Company <br />$183,977.44 <br />Sunram Construction Inc. <br />$205 <br />Peterson Companies <br />$209,860.00 <br />New Look Contracting Inc. <br />$211 <br />Veit & Company, Inc. <br />$237,217.90 <br />Cobalt Contracting Inc. <br />$243 <br />Barber Construction Inc. <br />$249 <br />Engineer's Estimate <br />$240,000.00 <br />WHEREAS, the bid of North Valley Inc. in the amount of $183,272.52 for the <br />construction of said improvements in accordance with the approved plans and specifications and <br />advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder and their bid shall be and hereby is <br />accepted. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br />1) The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on behalf of <br />the City of Ramsey. <br />2) The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids at such time that a contract has been executed. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof <br />RESOLUTION #14 -11 -241 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
