Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #14-12-263 <br />RESOLUTION TO DISSOLVE SHARED FIRE SERVICE STUDY GRUOP <br />WHEREAS, the Shared Fire Service Study Group, known as the Rum River Regional <br />Fire Study Group, which includes the cities of Bethel, Nowthen, Ramsey, and St Francis has <br />held scheduled meetings on a regular basis since October of 2011; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey had the following members participate in the Shared <br />Fire Service Study Group; Mayor Strommen, Fire Chief Dean Kapler, City Administrator Kurt <br />Ulrich, and Firefighter Shane Swedeen; and <br />WHEREAS, the Shared Fire Service Study Group presented a committee report to all <br />communities involved on April 12, 2012 in Ramsey, MN; and <br />WHEREAS, all cities mutually adopted a resolution to continue efforts towards a shared <br />fire service; and <br />WHEREAS, the Shared Fire Service Study Group has reviewed a number of issues, <br />implemented several cooperative ventures, and has concluded its work; and <br />WHEREAS, the "Rum River Regional Fire" Study group met on December 4, 2014 and <br />the consensus was to discontinue further efforts pending Council approval. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the City of Ramsey adopt this resolution dissolving the Shared Fire Service Study <br />Group. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />
