location and size of said public event signs shall be subject to the approval of the <br />Zoning Administrator with consideration given to the public safety and the signage <br />reasonably necessary and appropriate for the intended purpose. <br /> <br />9.12.06 DISTRICT REGULATIONS <br /> <br />In addition to those signs permitted or required in all districts as described in Section 9.12.03 <br />(General Provisions) and 9.12.05 (Temporary Signs), the following signs are permitted in each <br />specific district and shall be regulated as to size, location and character according to the <br />requirements herein set forth. <br /> <br />9.12.0 7 RESIDENTIAL TYPE DISTRICTS <br /> <br />Subd. 1 <br /> <br />Area Identification Signs. One (1) sign per vehicular access to a development, <br />not to exceed thirty-two (32) square feet in area is permitted. <br /> <br />Subd. 2 <br /> <br />Temporary Signs. Temporary signs are permitted in accordance with Section <br />9.12.05. <br /> <br />9.12.08 BUSINESS TYPE DISTRICTS <br /> <br />Subd. 1 Business Use Signs <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />Wall, Canopy or Marquee Sign. Total sign area may be up to fifteen percent (15%) of the <br />front building facade. At least fifty percent (50%) of the signage area must be placed on the <br />measured wall with remaining signage area, if desired, distributed on any other wall or <br />walls. Sign height shall not exceed the top of the parapet wall or, if no parapet wall, sign <br />height shall not exceed height of eaves. The gross surface area of a wall, canopy or <br />marquee sign may be increased by ten percent if such wall sign: <br /> <br />consists only of individual, outlined alphabetic, numeric and/or symbolic characters <br />without background except that provided by the building surface to which the sign <br />is to be affixed; and <br /> <br />illumination, if any, is achieved through shielded illumination, shielded silhouette <br />lighting, or shielded spot lighting but not any lighting where the light source is <br />visible or exposed on the face or sides of the characters. <br /> <br />A wall, canopy or marquee sign may be located on the outermost wall of any principal <br />building but shall not project more than sixteen (16) inches from the wall to which the sign <br />is to be affixed. A wall sign shall not project higher than the parapet line of the wall to <br />which the sign is to be affixed. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />Ground Sign. There shall not be more than one (1) ground sign for each parcel.
