Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson, Cich, Beyer and <br /> <br />Case #5: 5torth Metro Mayor's Association <br /> <br />Mrs. Helling s~ ated that the City of Ramsey is a member of the North Metro Mayor's Association <br />and the 1991 3 :lopted General Fund Budget included funding for the 1991 Association dues in the <br />amount of $2 i53 and the 1991 North Metro Development Association dues in the amount of <br />$4,507. Mr. >scph Strauss, Executive Director of the North Metro Mayor's Association was <br />present to u [ate the Council on activities of the Association and to answer any questions <br />regarding both '.the Association and the Development Association. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hardin asked if the City was able to join just the North Metro Mayor's Association <br />without joining the 'North Metro Mayor's Development Association. <br /> <br />Mr. Strauss answered that it is possible; however, the City of Ramsey would have to give <br />notification by November. <br /> <br />Motion by Cotlncilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Beyer that the NWMA case <br />be referred to the Budget Committee for their review. <br /> <br />Motion carrie_it. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Hardin, Beyer, Cich and <br />Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #6: Declare Arbor Day and Authorization for Related Events <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik explained that in the past years, the Mayor and Councilmembers have issued a local <br />proclamation declaring Arbor Day and Arbor Month. <br /> <br />Motion by CoUncilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to adopt Resolution <br />091-03-066 prOclaiming April 26, 1991 as "Arbor Day" and the month of May, 1991 as "Arbor <br />Month". <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson, Hardin, Beyer and <br />Cich. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik stated that for the last 10 years, the City of Ramsey has held a tree sale and would like <br />to do it again. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to direct City Staff <br />to solicit price quotes for participants to provide nursery stock at the Annual Ramsey Tree Sale. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmember Hardin, Peterson, Beyer and <br />Cich. VotingNo: None. <br /> <br />Discussion eh,sued regarding gift trees for the residents. For the last two years, the City has <br />purchased seedlings packaged as gifts for residents in recognition of Arbor month. The size of the <br />trees/seedlingS:, cost and survival rate was discussed. The planting of trees on City property was <br />also discussed. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to direct the Green <br />Business Expo Committee to review the plan for the Arbor Day Tree giveaway and direct City <br />Staff to devisea plan for the planting of trees on City property in 1991. <br /> <br />City Council/March 13, 1991 <br /> Page 6 of 1i <br /> <br /> <br />
