CITY COUNCIL <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a public hearing on Improvement Project <br />Sealcoating part of Section 1 I. <br /> <br />#91-07 - <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson <br />Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br />Councilmember Kichard Cich <br />Councilmember Glen Hardin <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br /> <br />Also Present: City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br /> Acting City Administrator Sandra Ashley Helling <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Gilbert~on called the public hearing to order to discuss Improvement Project g01-07 - <br />Sealcoating pa?t of Section 11. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Mr. Jankowski istated this area is primarily the Klemish and Gfrorer Additions and includes several <br />lots fronted on~ street built in 1977 and last sealcoated in 1983. The area covers about 1.2 miles <br />and the amoun{estimated to be assessed would be $120.00 per unit for 65 units. He added that the <br />roads in this project require major repairs. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INI~UT <br /> <br />A resident asked if lots without houses built on them were assessed the same as a lot with a house <br />to which Mr. Jankowski answered yes. <br /> <br />John Johnson,~!16800 St. Francis Boulevard N.W., Ramsey ~ stated that the letter he received <br />didn't include the frontage road on which he lived as part of what would be repaired. He stated it <br />is in bad need Of repair. <br /> <br />Mr. Jankowski.:explained that it is a part of the State Trunk Highway; however, it will be included <br />in this project. ' <br /> <br />Mike MacLean, 16726 Sodium Street N.W., Ramsey - stated that his notice gave an estimated <br />amount of $26:i.00 and he asked if he was correct in assuming that it would be about $120.00 now <br />because of th~ 50% participation by the City. Mr. Jankowski replied he was correct. Mr. <br />MacLean stateJd he would also like to pay up front instead of having the assessment payments <br />spread out over three years of property taxes. <br /> <br />Mr. Jankowskiiexp!ained that the amount could be paid within 30 days of the assessment hearing <br />and there would be no interest charged. <br /> <br />Public Hearing - ggl-07/March 26, 1991 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
