Through alsefies of events, Outlot B was developed with a home. This public hearing is
being held to ~acate the north half of Ouflot B and facilitate clearing the rifle on the property.

CITIZEN INPUT

Kevin Brand,!8910 - 176th Avenue N.W., Ramsey - stated he tried buying Ouflot B years ago and
found out he ~ouldn't build on it because it was dedicated as an outlot/park property. One year
later, there w.as a hole dug in the ground to prepare for building so he called the City to inquire
how a house Could be built there and the City stated it was buildable. Now, a year later, the City is
saying due to a series of mi.~takes, the property should be vacated. He added that there is very little
property left for tile children in his area to play on. The residents in the area wanted a park built
where there i~now a house built, leaving only 3/4 of an acre for play area. He understood the City
was supposed, to have bought some other land, Ouflot C, which is a power line area, which was
supposed to 'r~la~ Ouflot B. He stated the residents were also told there would be money for that
park development, and they haven't heard what's happeneck The Sorteberg Addition transpired and
there was five acres dedicated to the City; however, there is still money that's supposed to be-for
development fromthe original Ouflot B to be put into another park. He stated that the house on the
park propenylhas been taxed and also sold twice and the residents in the area want to know where
the money is Cat Was supposed to be used to develop a park. He stated there is a park available
now (Sortebe~g) and they want it developed. He added that Countryside Estates is "one big shady
deal" and he doesn't want this matter "shoved under the carpet".

Ms. Frolik replied :that as far as any financial Ixansactions, the Planning and Zoning Commi ssion is
not privy to/hat information. She suggested Mr. Brand contact the City Attorney regarding the
financml 1sstl~s.

Public Hearing/P&Z/June 4, 1991
