Absent: Commissioner Hendriksen. <br /> <br />Case #2: !Review City Code for Amendments Relating to the Keeping of <br /> Poultry and Fowl. <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik explained that she has received numerous inquiries regarding the <br />keeping of pO~'y and fowl. She believes that our ordinance requires rev!e.w and clarification with <br />respect to dorn~ silo animals as well as poultry and fowl. Ms. Frolik statea mat City Council feels it <br />is fair to allow~these animals on parcels of 5 acres or more. <br /> <br />Commissioner-Deemer brought up the possibility of redrafting a single ordinance for all animals.. <br /> <br />Commissione/~ Bawden said that Andover is a city similar to Ramsey and has a very good <br />description of!non,domestic animals and would like to read their entire ordinance relating to the <br />keeping of animals, <br /> <br />CommissionerDeemer asked if staff could locate the meeting minutes from a number of years ago <br />when the ordirlance was recodified relating to the keeping of animals. <br /> <br />This issue will be:discussed again at a later date when the additional information requested is <br />available. <br /> <br />Case #3: Status of Conditional Use Permits Issued in the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik presented a status report regarding conditional use permits. There are 73 active <br />conditional us~ permits in the City. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer directed Ms. Frolik to notify the new owner of the former "Deals on <br />Wheels" location of "Grandfather Rights" of the non-conforming use. Commissioner Deemer also <br />asked if therei'are current bonds for Rehbein Excavating's Mining and Grading conditional use <br />permit. ~ <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik replied that they have posted securities. <br /> <br />The Commission discussed the status of conditional use permits in the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman directed Ms. Frolik to find out how many conditional use permits are active <br />in our neighboring communities and report back at the next regular meeting of the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission. <br /> <br />Case #4: :Schedule Workshop to Continue Working on Proposed Sign <br /> "Ordinance. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik staled that Commissioner Greenberg of the Economic Development Commission still <br />has an active itnterest in the proposed sign ordinance and would like to cooperate with the Planning <br />and Zoning Commission. <br /> <br />Chairman Zirnmerman directed Ms. Frolik to invite Commissioner Greenberg to participate in this <br />project and to[place it as an early item on the agenda for the next regular meeting on August 6, <br />199i at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning Commission /July 2, 1991 <br /> Page 5 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
