Mary. Lunde, 14393 Waco Street N.W., Ramsey - stated there will be added traffic on the Rum <br />River with multiple family dwellings. She stated they've lived in the area for approximately five <br />years and the traffic on the river has increased but there used to be a limit on the size of boat motor <br />and a speed limit on the river. The shoreline is mined and the property owners are~o?ing property <br />due to excess number of people using the river. ~q~ ~- ~ Ov/--~~'~ <br />Commissioner Deemer stated that to his knowledge, regulations ~ the"river haven t changed. The <br />City of Anoka passed a "no-wake" law and the City of Ramsexzgadopted the same ordinance. He <br />.stated that when the residents see people, speeding or having too 1"" 'arge a motor, they should report <br /> <br />Linda Roof, 14369 Waco Street N.W., Ramsey - stated that the law enforcement people can't get <br />out on the river fast enough to catch anyone. The little water vehicles purchased by Anoka can't <br />keep up with the boats. <br /> <br />Ken Jensen, 14526 Waco Street N.W., Ramsey - asked what the next step is following the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman stated the Commission hears the input and either makes a decision tonight <br />or takes more time to study the issue and then they make a recommendation to the City Council. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik stated that whether the preliminary plat is approved or denied, there will be no more <br />public hearings regarding this same issue. <br /> <br />Mr. Jensen inquired as to what notification will be given when this case comes up on the agenda <br />again. <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik replied that the Council agendas are published in the Anoka Union or a call can be <br />placed to Civ., Hall to find out what agenda cases are scheduled. <br /> <br />Ms. Roof stated that all the points made at the first public hearing regarding the request to rezone <br />the property apply to this public hearing. <br /> <br />Fred Stretar, 14284 Waco Street N.W., Ramsey - expressed concern with regard to the aesthetic <br />value of the southern most cut-de-sac. He stated there is a lot of vegetation that would be taken out <br />of that hill. He added that if that a.rea is built on, the house behind him would be looking right <br />down into his bedroom. <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman stated the Commission hadn't received any grading plans yet. <br /> <br />Mr. Stretar stated he does not want to see that leveled. He's been working for four years to get <br />what he has there. He added there are four other houses affected also. He stated he does not want <br />an $80,000 house next to his. <br /> <br />Michael Hadrrath, 14693 Waco Street N.W., Ramsey - asked the Commission if anyone has been <br />contacted regarding pending litigation ff the rezoning is not approved. <br /> <br />The Commission answered no. <br /> <br />Gerald Anderson, 14537 Waco Street N.W., Ramsey - stated he would like to know where each <br />of the Planning and Zoning Commission members live and what there connection is with this <br />project or developers. <br /> <br />Public Hearing/P&Z/September 16, 1991 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
