BUSINESS <br /> ~i Introduction of an Ordinance Amending Chaoter 9 <br /> ~. of the City Code Relating to Adult Use <br /> <br />Mr. Ben Deals!er stated that for the last two weeks the Planning and Zoning Commission has been <br />reviewing the ~aroposed amendment to the City's zoning ordinance. On October 29, 1990, by a <br />four to one Vole, ~e Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the proposed <br />zoning amendfnent. Commissioner Deemer stated he was the descending vote on October 29, <br />1990 and. heWishos to express his concerns at this time. Commissioner Deemer stated that he <br />believes the in~ent Of the ordinance amendment is not to make changes in existing uses, however, <br />the ordinanc{~ ~:reates two new zones and by content, is rezoning some of the existing uses into <br />these new z°fies. The list of performance standards in these zones does create changes. <br />Commissioner!Deelner< noted that the conditional use permit and variance sections have also been <br />amended. 1:o~' example, the City Council will again become the Board of Adjustment for <br />variances. M~:. Deemer stated that the proposed amendment to the zoning ordinance goes far <br />beyond the s~pe of adult uses and there was not sufficient notification to the property owners <br />affected by th¢Imajor changes in the ordinance amendment. <br />Mayor Reiman~. sm'ted that the City Council is proposing to introduce the ordinance at this meeting <br />and necessary Changes can be made to it before it is adopted. <br /> <br />Councilme~b~r Peterson stated that he believes the City should have a policy whereby the <br />ordinances ~r~ ¢o~ntinually being reviewed and updated to reflect what the City desires. <br />Councilmemb~r P~terSon inquired if there would be a public hearing on the zoning ordinance <br /> <br />City Council/October 30, 1990 <br /> Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
