Case #11:~ Disi~uss Recycling Program <br /> <br />Councilmem~ r Pelerson expressed concern with conflicting information that has been distributed <br />by City Staff nd ~y the recycling provider regarding the types of things that are recyclable and <br />also the prePa atiO~n of articles to be recycled. He said neighbors have expressed the desire to <br />recycle, but th,.y ddn't want to play games. <br />Mr. Hartley Stated :that one of the issues of confusion was, regarding removing labels fro.n,~ glass. <br />The recycling~se~ice changed the literature so it doesnt have to be removed unless it s loose <br />already. Mr.i~artl~,y stated one of the biggest conflicts seemed to be what Monday is pick-up day. <br />Councilmemb~r Cich suggested talking with Jim Gromberg, Project Manager, and getting it <br />straight. <br /> <br />Councilmemb~r DeLuca stated some people put their recycling container out ever.',, Monday <br />because they dbn't ~know which Monday is their day. <br />Councilmemb~r P~terson stated another big con, flict is regarding which plastics are recyclable. He <br />feels that defi~itel~ needs to be clarified. He s concerned that if the correct information is not <br />handed out, peOple!will become discouraged and not want to recycle. <br /> <br />Councilmernb~r Cinch suggested an article in the Ramsey Resident to clarify the day of pickup and <br />also what is ir~cyc!able and what preparation needs to be done so it is accepted by the recycling <br />service. ' <br /> <br />Councilmemb~r Pearson stated that when he had some items rejected, the recycling provider left a <br />correction sheet in lhis bin. <br /> <br />Case #12: :!Pe3sonnel Committee Report <br /> ,,¢ <br />Councilmeni~., r Cich stated that Jo Ann Thieling is the new Recording Secretary, there is further <br />study being d~ne 9n job descnpnons, some ~ssues were tabled and he also stated that he would <br />give a better r~poWnext time. <br />Mr. Hartley s~ted ithat Mr. Donald Johnson accepted the position as Senior Engineer Technician in <br />salary grade' 3[35 at, an annual salary of $22,642.00. <br /> <br />Motion by C0unctlmember Cich and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to adopt Resolution <br />~/90-11-349 Offerifig Senior Engineer Technician position to Donald Johnson. <br /> <br />Motion carried. ~oting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Cich, Pearson, DeLuca and <br />Peterson. Vo!ing No: None. <br />Mr. Hartley. s~ted~ there were many options available for health and life insurance providers. The <br />majority., of. ~ ~" ployees, indicated their preference is to stay with LOGIS. The Planning and Zoning <br />Comm~ss~o~ also ~ecommended LOGIS. <br />Motion by CO~ncijmember Peterson and seconded by Councilmember Cich to stay with LOGIS as <br />the health' ~life iinsurance provider. <br /> <br />Motion carfie[d.
