Councilmember Riley introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #14 -11 -230 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A CASH DONATION OF $1,000 FROM RAMSEY LIONS <br />TO BE APPLIED TOWARD HEART SAFE PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, MN State Statute 465.03 requires that a city pass a resolution that accepts <br />any donations or grants and <br />WHEREAS, two - Thirds majority of the council members must adopt said resolution to <br />formally accept donation. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has received a cash donation from the Ramsey Lions in <br />the amount of $1,000; and <br />WHEREAS, the donor elects to restrict the purpose of the donation to fund the Heart - <br />Safe program. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby accepts donation made by the Ramsey Lions in the <br />amount of $1,000. <br />The donation shall be applied to the Heart -Safe Program. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Kuzma, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Strommen <br />Councilmember Riley <br />Councilmember Kuzma <br />Councilmember Backous <br />Councilmember Johns <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />
