The b~se df any advertising sign must be landscaped with at least grass and must be <br />prop~rly maintained. <br /> <br />Advo~sing signs shall not exceed 300 square feet in area nor 25 feet in height as measured <br />perp6n~ticu!arly from the height of the highest point of the sign structure to the grade level <br />directly bel0w the sign. The existing grade may not be altered for the purpose of increasing <br />sign height. <br />Adv°rtlsing signs shall be considered a principal use of the property. Advertising signs <br />must bi removed when the parcel upon which they are situated is devoted to another <br />principal use. <br /> <br />The City shall perform a yearly inspection of the advertising devices to ensure compliance <br />of said :'advertising structure with the provisions of this section and other provisions of this <br />Ordinance.~ The fee for said inspection shall be set by the Ramsey City Council by <br />resolution. <br /> <br />9.12.09 <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br /> iINDUSTRIAL AND BUSINESS WAREHOUSE TYPE DISTRICTS <br /> <br />Wall; C~anOpy or Marquee Sign. There shall not be more than one (1) wall sign for each <br />princil~.' 1 building except where the building abuts two or more streets, additional such <br />signs, ~ne (~) oriented to each abutting su'eet, shall be permitted. The gross surface area of <br />a wall !ign !shall not exceed fifteen (15) percent of the area of the building wall, including <br />doors grid windows, to which the sign is to be affixed. The gross surface area of a wall <br />sign may be increased by ten (10) percent if such wall sign: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />iconsists only of individual, outlined alphabetic, numeric, and/or sumbolic <br />;characters without background except provided by the building surface to which the <br />'sigr~ is to be affixed; and <br /> <br />2) iany illumination, if any, is achieved through shielded illumination, shielded <br /> .:silhouette lighting, or shielded spot lighting but not any lighting where the light <br /> '~souXce is visible or exposed on the face or sides of the characters. <br /> <br />A wall~ canopy or marqu, ee sign may be located on the outermost wall of any principal <br />buildin~ but shall not project more than sixteen (16) inches from the wall to which the s~gn <br />is to b~ affixed. A wall sign shall not project higher than the parapet line of the wall to <br />which ~he fign is to be affixed. Where a principal building is devoted to two (2) or more <br />perm/tied uses, the operator of each such use may install a wail sign upon h/s/her <br />proportionate share of the building wall to which the sign is to be affixed. The maximum <br />gross iufface area of each such wall sign shall be determined by calculating the <br />proportionate share of the area of the building wall, including doors and windows to which <br />the sig~ is !to be affixed and applying such proportion to the total permitted wall sign <br />aggreg!te gross surface area for the building. <br /> <br />Sign Ord.
