We recognize and have planned for parkland ~edication including lands for a City park, the above trail and a Scenic Easement. Documentation is 'presented herein relating t~ parkland dedication consistent %zith City Code. Ordinance ~$8~1 essentially states that sufficient trail right-of- way land shall be provided within the Critical Area District and I expect thi~ relates to ~ew subdivisions. Much of the proposed Faye Addition and ~11 of th~ land southerly of proposed Riverside Drive is withi~ the Critical Area. I understand that your Commission recommends to the Planning Commission~ concerning all parkland dedication and that trail land as planned!iin~the Mississippi Corridor counts as required parkland if it is not adjacent to a public street. Also your commission recommends a trail right-of-way width of 35 feet. Subsequenti to the initial Sketch Plan submittal to the Planning · Commission' on July 17, 1990, I met with your Commission on August 8 at which~iti~,e your recommendations related primarily to ~he ~ajor park site.'I Apparently your Commission considered the Trail at your meetings of Nbvember and December, 1990..Subsequently at least ten. alternatiMe trail locations have been considered. We reco~gnd the trail Trail Pla~ as the trail: location shown on the attached Park and Width and location is completely consistent with ithe City Code. ,Is: consistent with the Regional Trail Corridors designated within Anoka County in the Recreation ;Open Space Deve!cpment Guide/Plan of the !Metropolitan Council.
