Although I have not received an)., formal submittals from you for this <br />plan, I underSt~tnd from mx, visit with you on .January 28th, that the process will incorporate two <br />air stripping t0wer~s. It is my understanding that these will be substantial structures and will <br />include a sigriificent amount of ancillary equipment including large horsepower blowers. <br />]::urthermOre,i the nature of the ~oundwater treatment plant being proposed for the remedial action <br />will be it long-t~m'~!commitment of the land used, perhaps in excess of twenty years. <br /> <br />Based upon th¢ above, I believe the most appropriate vehicle for the processing of your request <br />would be the il~suance of a conditional use permit. This is the City's normal requirer~ent for land <br />uses which mh;.y'ha~ve a significant impact on the area, which are not specifically pertained uses <br />within the zon!ing district. I believe ,,,our proposal would certainly fall into this classification. <br />Furthermore, t~e City has consistentiy utilized this procedure in processine other requests by <br />WMMI includ}ng hs tire processing faciliLv, vertical site expansion, mobile~office building and <br />yard waste cor~pos:ting faciliLv. The conditional use permh process will also allow for the public <br />~nput which v~ur lener indicated that you desired.
