Councilmember LeTourneau introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #14 -11 -241 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 14 -27; MISSISSIPPI RIVER TRAIL — RIVERDALE DRIVE TO ARMSTRONG BOULEVARD WHEREAS, on March 25th, 2014, the City Council approved proceeding with advance construction for portions of the Mississippi River Trail through the City of Ramsey; and WHEREAS, on June 24th, 2014, the City Council approved continuing to proceed with advance construction of the portion of the Mississippi River Trail through the Riverdale Drive Extension/Reconstruction project. WHEREAS, bids were received, opened, and tabulated on October 21, 2014, and the following bids were found to comply with the advertisement for bids; and BIDDING CONTRACTOR TOTAL BID North Valley, Inc. $183,272.52 Park Construction Company $183,977.44 Sunram Construction Inc. $205 Peterson Companies $209,860.00 New Look Contracting, Inc. $211,853.00 Veit & Company, Inc. $237,217.90 Cobalt Contracting Inc. $243 Barber Construction, Inc. $249,346.20 Engineer's Estimate $240,000.00 WHEREAS, the bid of North Valley Inc. in the amount of $183,272.52 for the construction of said improvements in accordance with the approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder and their bid shall be and hereby is accepted. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on behalf of the City of Ramsey. 2) The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids at such time that a contract has been executed.
