CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT REQUEST
ALUMINUM RECYCLING, INC.
By: Merland Otto

CASE

Background:

Mr. Glenn R¥chner has applied for a conditional use permit to develop and operate an
aluminum prOceSsing ptant. The site location is Lot 2, Block 1 of Gateway North
Industrial Park Plat 1 on approximately 2.58 acres. The property is zoned B/W
Business/Warehouse use.

The operation plan states that the facility would receive and process aluminum and
other non-hazar~lous metals (brass, copper, stainless steel and other non-hazardous
metals). AluminUm and other non-hazardous metals would be processed on site with
a melt operation separating aluminum and producing ingots.

The aluminum processing operation would include the disassembly of vehicle eng(nes
and transmissions on-site which will require a hazardous waste generator license.
-T~wo melt ~~.'are-~pr6'pbse8 ~o~be operated which would be located within a
~l~ra~t-~cture proposed to be constructed.
The melt operation is planned to operate 2__4_b..o_~r.~_a day, seven days a week while the
' m~t~ r-e~~-p-~r~i(Jn-v~OLild--5~)~(~J~-t~etween ~.~)"-alm' and 6i'Ooi~.rn., MOnday
t h r o u 9h-S-~-~- a~. .......................... -- .

e A pplicantisrequestingapermittodevelopthesite"foranaluminumprocessing
plant". This proposal differs in that the Applicant is applying only for
a permit for "an aluminum processing plant", and as such Ordinance 90-5 would not
a p ply.
