February 7, 1986 <br /> <br />Mr. 3ack Ipple~ Chairman <br />Ramsey Airport COmmission <br />Ramsey, MN 55303 <br /> <br />Dear :lack: <br /> <br />The Anoka Vocational Technical lnstitute's Aviation/Air Traffic Control classrooms have <br />been located a! Gateway North Airport since the summer of 1975. We have been more <br />than a passive observer in the aviation activity of the airport since that time. <br /> <br />The Gateway North Airport is a valuable and active facility in serving the public's access <br />to the northwestern suburban area of Minnesota. Currently~ the AVTI has t~6 students <br />enrolled and attending the facilities at Gateway North Airport. Ten to fifteen of these <br />students are c~Urrently taking flight training from the F.B.O., Gateway Aero. We are <br />noting a gro~viBg interest in flight training among our students because of the current <br />pilot hiring trends.: (8500 pilots were hired by major carriers in 1985.) <br /> <br />We also have Students employed by Gateway Aero as service personnel.
