REPRESENTING THE MANUFACTURER

7150 - 143rd AVENUE N.W. ANOKA, MINNESOTA 55303
TELEPHONE: (612) 427-9635

September 3, 1985

l'D: Ramsey Airport Commission

Gentlemen:

This letter is being written in my capacity as an owner of our
company, located adjacent to the Gateway Airport and in response to
your request for this kind of input.

We purchased land in Ramsey some eight years ago and subsequently
built our facility here. I recall the encouragement and offers Of
special benefits from virtually every community that we looked at as a
possible location. None came from Ramsey.

Nonetheless, we saw the prospect for good compatible industrial
growth since a few people had seen fit to set aside industrial pro-
perty and designate a part of it to provide an airport to encourage
that growth. It was on that strength that we built in Ramsey.

I'm sorry to say that our dreams of quality industrial develop-
ment around us have not materialized. We feel this has had an adverse
effect on our property values as compared to the other communities
that we had considered.

Ramsey has officially indicated its desire for industrial develop-
ment but!has done nothing of substance to encourage it. The airport
improvement plan is the only proposal we have seen that was created
primarily to fill this need.

We pay about $1000 per month taxes for which we got a gravel
street and we donated the land for the street.

What I'm saying is that we want to be a loyal business neighbor
to the Ramsey community but we would like something back for our tax
dollar. The airport proposal is the only thing of benefit to us that
we have seen to date. We, therefore, encourage this community to
recognize the value of commerical development to the general good to
of the community and endorse this project.

Yours very truly,

Charles B. Soderholm, Sr.
