The i.o_thgr intangible is that the Federal Government has determined that
landfills andi airports are not compatible neighbors. FAA says that if there is
an airport; there will be no expansion of the landfill because of height
restrictio ~s and bird hazards.

Mr. DouglaS F0~ntain inquired if the airport would preclude the possibility of
Site P being Selected.

Chairman Ippe1 replied that it would.

Mr. DeLuca inquired as to the airport annual maintenance and operation costs.

Mr. Otto re~. 1.!ed that other facilities, similar to what Gateway would be, have
operating a~d.i ,maintenance costs of $15,000-$17,000/year; the city would be
eligible f~r ~p to $5,000 in State funding for maintenance.

Willard Breu -~7213 153rd Lane - Inquired as to what is included in that
$15,000-$i7!~,00~.

Mr. Otto replied that it includes insurance, electrical service, mowing,
i May ~;, 1985
