The Airport <br />Commissi~ has tried to keep the people informed and answer every question <br />each step ~flthe way through public meetings and open houses. What is being <br />propose~~ ~n the .Airport Master Plan will meet all FAA, Mn/DoT and Metro <br />Council criteria, technically, the facility ~_~]_ifies for funding with some <br />concerns, one of those concerns being the landfill. Ramsey doesn't have any <br />other ~ of~ draw to make it competitive with other co~unities; this airport <br />facility ~ul4 attract business and employment. ~here have already been <br />businesSe~i0oating in Ramsey betting on the come that the airport will be <br />improve~; it_here have been businesses that did not locate at Ramsey because <br />there was '~ot! a firm commitment at Gateway. The City is getting to that point <br />in time whereI a decision has to be made regarding the best that can be done at <br />that site,-oonsidering all the positives and detriments. <br /> <br />Mr. Dick siebe~ ~r pointed out that the Airport Commission does not have the <br />authority rto make the decision; the Go, mission's task is to study the <br />situation [andmake a reconm~ndation to City Council; Council makes the final <br />decision. <br /> <br />Motion by i(l~issioner Erickson and seconded by Commissioner Stauffer to <br />adjourn t~s~meeting of the Airport Con~ission. <br /> <br />Motion ca~ri.e~.
