ordinance.

QUESTION A~,~D ~ ~$WER PERIO0

Jim Martin - Inquired if there are limitations in Zone C as to the number
of people' that can congregate in one place.

Merland Otto - Replied that there are no restrictions in Zone C regarding
the number~ of ~people that can congregate in one place.

Citizen - InqUired if all property owners in Zone A would be restricted
from building if the zoning ordinance is adopted.

Merland Otto.- Replied that the intent is to restrict all future
development in Zone A.

Keith SaueF -iInquired if any consideration has been given to whether or
not the aiTport project is feasible; what will it cost the citizens?

Mr. Hartley -Noted that this hearing is to address airport zoning; Mr.
Sauer's question relates to the project of improving the airport. The
question~b~fore the City at this time has to do with airport safety zoning
for the airport.

Keith Sauer If the cost of improvements and establishing Zones A, B
and C are ~he last issues to be discussed, will those discussions be too
late? Once zoning and improvements are approved, the taxpayers will be
stuck wi~h the cost of it.

Terry Beck - 115031Ramsey Blvd. - Inquired if properties in Zone A will be
or may be acquired by the City.

Merland Otto ~ Replied that the zoning ordinance doesn't say any property
has to be acquired but the policy has been in non-agrigultural areas that
restrictignslare so severe, it constitutes taking of land. When the
airport layou~ plan was developed, it was recommended that all of Zone A be
acquired. ~Regardless of whether zoning is in place or not, runway clear
zones (that a~ea extending 2000 feet from runway ends) would be acquired.

Duane Lundeen - Owner of Chips on 10 - Stated that his property is
partially in Zone B and Zone C and inquired if he will be able to expand on
his property.

Merland Otto - Replied that Zone B restrictions only apply to that portion
of the property in Zone B.

Duane Lundeen - Inquired what good the airport zoning will be if it means
he can't do anything with his property.

Ken Wagner - 116380 Hedgehog Street - Inquired if the current landfill,
which is loca~ed in Zone C, would be permitted to continue but Site P would
be prohibited.

Airport Zoning Board/July 29, 1987
