Department of Housing and Urban Development <br />Federal InSuranc,e, Administration completed a flood insurance study for the City <br />of Ramsey in Ma) of 1979; and <br /> <br /> WHERE~AS, the study esta%4ished floodway areas throughout the City <br />of P. amsev,~ and <br /> <br /> WHERE~$, a large portion of the Raudio property lying east of State <br />Trunk Hi~bwa¥ ~47 is located in the floodway; and <br /> <br /> WHEREiA$, Minnesota flood plain regulations (MINN. REG. NR 85) limits <br />the increases i~ flood heights to 0.$ foot; and <br /> <br /> WI4EREA$, a part of the Raudio property located in the floodway lies <br />above the i00 ;year flood elevation of 853; and <br /> W,HERI~A$, by filling approximately a six acre area with a maximum of <br />two feet; an ~'~ea of ten acres would be above the 100 year elevation and available <br />for deve!o~meiatl and <br />~RI~.AS, Mr. Raudio, the owner of the floodway property, has donated <br />adjoining ])ro~erty to the City in excess of 60 acres, much of which will be <br />maint, aine~i as lopen space within the floodway. . <br /> <br />so,,, rr so,.v co ,ci , cri <br /> <br /> 1) !Thei DNR review the effects of filling the az'ea shown on the attached <br />topograP~hic ~ap above the 100 year flood elevation. <br /> <br /> Z) :The DNR remove the area on the attached map from the floodway <br />provided the [~lhng does not increase the flood height by more than 0.5 foot. <br /> <br /> ;~) A Copy of this resolution and the attached map be submitted to the <br /> DNR. <br /> <br /> <br />
