Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #15-01-028 RESOLUTION TO HIRE A PATROL OFFICER WHEREAS, Police Chief Jim Way will retire on January 31, 2015, creating the need to backfill many positions in the Police Department; and WHEREAS, upon the hiring of Ms. Laura Kroll as a Patrol Officer, the backfilling process will be complete; and WHEREAS, Ms. Laura Kroll has been selected as the top candidate for the Patrol Officer position; and WHEREAS, staff has completed the necessary background checks and is recommending that Ms. Laura Kroll be hired as the City's new Patrol Officer, effective February 1, 2015, at $22.98 per hour, which is step 1 of the 2014 wage scale; and WHEREAS, Ms. Laura Kroll will be subject to a 1 -year probationary period and all other personnel policies will apply normally. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: Motion to adopt resolution #15-01-028, to hire Ms. Laura Kroll as the City's new Patrol Officer effective February 1, 2015, at $22.98 per hour, which is step 1 of the 2014 wage. The motion for the adoption of the 'foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member, , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 27th day of January 2015.
