Traffic On T.H. 169: <br /> <br />Mayor Gam~c introduced Anoka City Oouncilmember John Weaver. <br /> <br />Mr. Weaver stated that MnDoT is proposing to upgrade the Ferry Street segment <br />in Anoka ~r°m the Mississippi River Bridge to T.H. %10 bypass. This has <br />great imp'~ica, tions for BAmsey and Champlin because this anticipated <br />/mprove~ent Will not only carry 26,000 cars currently, but 56,000 cars in the <br />future. A h~aring was held a month ago and there was a great outpouring of <br />resistance t~ this proposed project. Anoka City Council has decided to put <br />in place !a txaffic task force made up of elected representatives from Ramsey, <br />Anoka, Champ!in and Dayton and Anoka and Hennepin Counties. Therefore, <br />Mr. weaver r~quested that Ramsey participate in that task force which is <br />intended to search out probable alternatives and options to the proposed <br />project. <br /> <br />Mayor Ge~iec replied that Council will be appointing a person to serve on <br />that task force later in the meeting. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Refer to Page 7, Paragraph 5 for further action. <br /> <br />Case #A~i ~9~ion of Resolution Orderin~ Street Improvement Project %84-2 <br /> ~ Preparation Of Plans And S~ecifications: <br /> <br />A petition of 7 homeowners in Rolling Green opposing the project was <br />submitte4 to Mayor Gamec. <br /> <br />Deanne ~Heaton - 16531 Ooquina - Stated that she thinks some of those names <br />on the o~Sing petition were obtained over the phone during Council recess. <br />She is!£n f~vor of the project and noted that others that are in favor were <br />present ~ur~g the public hearing but had to leave. <br /> <br />Dean Mealhouse - 16541 Coquina - Stated he is in favor of the street <br />improve~ent~project. <br /> <br />Dick Reinholz - 16531 Dolomite - Noted that there are 6 or 7 people and <br />himself that are present and are in favor of the street improvement project. <br /> <br />Sp C/April 17, 1984 <br /> Page 3 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
