I CHARTER COMMISSION CITY OF PAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA A regular ~mee~ing of the Ramsey Charter Commission was held on ~nursday, April 12~ '198~ at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, M!nne.sota. Members ~ese~t: Mr. Gary Heitman, Chairman Mr. Dick Sieber Ms. Brenda Bauerkemper Mr. Curt Titterud Mr. Stan Data Mr. John Lichter Mr. Tom Greenberg (arrived at 8:12 p.m.) Members Absent: Mr. Tom Gamec Mr. Roger Buchanan Chairman Hei ~man called the regular Charter Commission meeting to order at 7:49 p.m. CITIZEN _INPUT None. Chairma~ Hei~9~an stated that he has received verbal confirmation from Mayor Gamec ~hat the charter election date has been set for May 22, 1984. Commissi°n discussed whether or not it would be desireable for the Commission to a4ve~iseiand promote the proposed charter. Commission consensus is that Commiss~O~ m~mbers, as individuals, do have something to say with regards to the ch~r:gnd should be able to do so. As a Commission, the members were appoint%~ to,write and sut~it a charter -- the members are not obligated to sell the ~ha~ter or to shoot it down. DiscussiOn ensued regarding another city-wide mailing to draw attention to the election[ The commission discussed the problems involved with bulk mailingi~hatlwere encountered with the last city-wide mailing regarding the charter, i 0~mission consensus is to attempt to obtain from the County a list ofi~eg~tere~ voters in P~msey, preferably in the form of pre-addressed maillng~be~s. Commissioner Sieber stated he would contact the County regarding such a list.~ 0~mmission consensus is that the city-wide mailing will occur during~e w~ek of May 7 - 14, 1984, preferably not on the week-end.
