Chairman Peterson restated the motion as a motion for cons~nsus opinion of the Commission and on that basis direct City~S~a~f to prepare a findings of fact. Motion~ f~iled. Voting Yes: Commissioners Hendriksen and LaDue. Voti~§ N~: Commissioners Johnson, Kennen, Zirmerman and Deemer. Absta~n:~ Chairman Peterson. commtSisidner Zimmerman suggested that the Commission proceed with the ialready adopted motion to establish findings of fact. CommiSsidner Hendriksen stated that he keeps hearing from Mr. L~Fe~ere that the Commission should direct Staff to draw up fiddi~gs of fact to either approve or deny the application. Mr. LeFe?ere stated that he is suggesting that not as a reqUirement, but to help move things along. It would be advi$~bl~ to have findings stating, with some care, what the co-mmt~si~n is concluding regarding the concerns. The Commission can ~af~ a findings of fact tonight if they wish; it would be simpler ~o have Staff prepare findings, with the Commission giVim§ S~aff as much guidance as they can, and the Commission actin~ o9 those findings at some later meeting. The Commission can amene, delete or add to those findings, but by so doing, the Co_mmtSsi~n would have a working document before them at the next meeting ~hich would put them further along the decision making proCeSs ~han they are now. It would be most productive if the commiSsiOn could give Staff some guidance as to whether you are in faVorlof or opposed to the application.
