'i <br /> <br />'7 <br /> <br />! <br />i <br /> <br /> I <br />-i <br /> <br />_il <br /> <br />;I <br /> <br />170.01 ZONING <br /> <br />Draft 7/6/82 <br /> <br />"' 170.01 !;CITLE AND APPLICATION <br /> 170.011 ~ITLE <br /> This Chapter[~hal~ be known as the "Ramsey Zoning Chapter" except as referred to <br /> herein where!~t a~all be known as "this Chapter". <br /> <br /> 170.012 ; ~u~pOSE <br /> <br /> The following ~onSng provisions and the zoning map established h~reby have been <br /> enacted in.a~¢~rdince, with a comprehensive plan of land use, the purpose of <br /> which is to pz)mo~e the health, safety, morals, comfort, convenience, <br /> prosperity, ~! g+neral welfare, and have been made in consideration of the <br /> character of~e~ch~district and withe view towards conserving the value of <br /> buildings an~ [an~ and encouraging the most appropriate use of land throughout <br /> the City. <br /> <br /> These zontnglp~ov*sions have been adopted for the purpose of dividing the City <br /> into zones, ~ di~tricts, restricting and regulating therein the location, <br /> erection, co~ltru~tion, re-construction, alteration, and use of buildings, <br /> structures, ~d l~nd for industrial, commercial, residential, recreational, and <br /> other specif*~ u~e,; regulating the intensity of the use of land, and to <br /> regulate andi ~d~te~mtne the area of open spaces surrounding such buildings in <br /> order to pre¥e~t ~he over crowding or'land and to assure adequate light and air, <br /> to protect v~.'e~rw~ys and natural resources; to establish building lines and the <br /> location of buildings designed .for specified industrial, commercial, residential <br /> and other uS~ within such areas; to fix standards to which buildings or <br /> structures sh~l ~onform therein; to prohibit uses, buildings or structures <br /> incompatible7~thjthe character of such districts; to prevent additions to and <br /> alterations ~ re~odeling of existing buildings .or structures in such a way as <br /> to avoid the~stfictions~ and limitations lawfully imposed hereunder; to limit <br /> congestion i~ ~he!public streets by providing for off-street parking and loading <br /> and unloadin$ ~f 9chicles; providing for the gradual elimination of non- <br /> conforming ui~ o~ land, buildings and structures; to secure safety from fire <br /> and other di*a~te~s; to conserve the economic value of land and buildings <br /> throughout t~ City; to promote the public health, safety, morals, comfort, ' <br /> <br /> convenience, n~ <br /> ~os~erity and general welfare; and prescribi -penalties for the <br /> violation of:~isliChapter,, " . <br /> <br /> 170.013 RELATION TO COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br /> <br /> It is the po!i~y 9f the City of Ramsey that the enforcement, amendment and <br /> administrati0~ ofithis Ordinance be accomplished with due consideration of the <br /> recommendation~ c~ntained in the Comprehensive Plan as developed and amended <br /> from time roll,me!by the Planning Commission and City Council of the City.
