I I I I ,I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I CASE # 4 DESIGNATE USE OF UNEXPENDED C()MMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDS By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik Background: We have received notification from JoAnn Wright, Anoka County Community Development Manager, that Ihe .City of Ramsey has a balance of $9,090.00 in unexpended CDBG funds. These funds are credit ba[~ances remaining from the following previous projects: //861 : Rivers Bend Park $1,451.00 #946 City Hall Accessibility $7,639.00 ' ~ TOTAL $9,090.00 Observations: If we do not reallbcate these funds to another project, they will be allocated into the County housing rehabilitation' program. Mark Boos, parks ~tnd Utilities Coordinator, has requested that consideration be given to utilizing these funds to:congtruct hardsurface paths between the various activity areas at Central Park. Mr. Boos' request~is b~tsed on the idea that Central Park functions as a focal point for community events and bitumi[nous paths linking the various areas of the park would ensure more public participation BY thbse most easily discouraged by unsure surfaces (elderly and persons with any degree of disability). A proposed resoluiion to allocate the funds for bituminous paths at Central Park is enclosed for your review. Recommendatioi~: City Staff recQmmends adoption of the proposed resolution. Council Action: Motion to: ', Adopt Resolution 4/-92-10-__ allocating unexpended CDBG funds for bituminous paths at Central Pa~k.
