INNOVATIVE BIKEWAYflWALKWAY PROJECTS <br /> <br />This catetzor), is intended to encourage innovative ideas to increase the amount, safety and enjoymen[ <br />of bi~cle and walk trips. As can be seen below, the criteria are very broad so as to give new ideas <br />an opportunity for funding. E.xamp}es of such projecL, ma)' include publishing maps of good <br />commuter bi~,cle or walk routes in a city or count),, signing of such routes, safety education projects, <br />development of bicycle or pedestrian friendly zones, use of special traffic signal actuating devises, etc. <br />New relationships between government uni~ or with the private sector ma), be an avenue to pursue. <br />These examples should not be thought of as a comprehensive list of projects. <br /> <br />Priority Criteria/Innovative Proiects <br /> <br />Points <br /> <br />400 1. <br /> <br />InnovatJveness. Unique projects or applications that foster bicycling or walking <br />for transportation purposes. <br /> <br />2.
