Absent: CouncilmemberBeyer. <br /> <br />Case #2: :Au[.horization to Acquire Easements from Nell Guy Estate <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbert~on tire, ed the meeting over to Councilmember Peterson. <br /> <br />City Engine~:r Jankowski stated that on November 26, 1991, the City Council authorized the <br />initiation of~se~ent acquisition proceedings to acquire a 20 foot permanent and a 30 foot <br />construction e~tSen~ent along the southern border of the Guy property to facilitate the sewer and <br />water install~fi :m f~r Project ~91-01. Mr. Jankowski stated that although the City could proceed <br />with condemiu tion[of the easements, the City Attorney has negotiated a proposed settlement. The <br />settlement Pm'. ~ose~ a compensation award for the easements which is based on 50% of the land <br />value for the t erm~ent easement and 10% of the land value for the temporary easement. He <br />added that the trusiee for the Guy property has submitted an appraisal which values the land at <br />$1.50 per sql~me feot. The City Assessor feels this amount is somewhat high and suggests that <br />the value is Slc~er tb $1.00 per square foot. Mr. Jankowski stated the proposed negotiation would <br />mean a paym~.nt 8f $6,634.50 for the permanent easement and $1,990.35 for the temporary <br />easement for~a?total[°f $8,624.85.
