Councilmeml~r <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #92-07- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION. iAPPROVING JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE <br />CITY OFf IRA.M_SEY AND ANOKA COUNTY FOR FUNDING OF 1992 <br />LANDFILL ~BATEMENT ACTIVITIES IN THE CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota Legislature enacted the Select Committee on <br />Recycling axial[the Environment (SCORE Legislation) which provides for collection of sales tax on <br />solid waste disposfl; and <br /> WHEREAS, counties are responsible for the dispersion of said funds to municipalities; <br />and <br /> <br /> wHEREAS, a joint powers agreement between Anoka County and the City of Ramsey is <br />required prior ko ~e distribution of funds for municipal landfill abatement programs for SCORE <br />funds re~mbur~me~t; and <br /> WHEREA~;, the City of Ramsey is eligible for a total of $32,888.40 of SCORE funding <br />for 1992· <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSES, ~NOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That th~ City of Ramsey hereby approves the joint powers agreement between the City of <br /> Ramsey anal Anoka County regarding the full participation of the City of Ramsey in <br /> establi~inglandfill abatement programs pursuant to SCORE Legislation and funding from <br /> Anolca Couflty regarding the same. <br /> <br />2) That th~ Ra~sey City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Administrator to sign <br /> the joint pOWers agreement and any other necessary documents on behalf of the City. <br /> <br />3) That th~ S~RE funds, in the amount of $32,888.40, be used to reimburse the City for the <br /> cost of the City-wide Curbside Recycling Program. <br /> <br />The motion fo~the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> i andiupon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following Were absent: <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this <br />the 14th day of., Jul3~, 1992. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />City Adrninislrator <br /> <br /> <br />
