Section II1. <br /> <br />(2) Construction staking. <br /> <br />(3) Resident inspection of construction of Project. <br /> <br />(4) Observation of materials testing, by ENGINEER or his agent. <br /> <br />(5) <br /> <br />Assisting THE CITY in arranging for continuation of the work should <br />the Contractor default for any reason; and providing general review <br />of construction over an extended period should the construction <br />contract time be exceeded by more than 25 percent, not occasioned <br />by fault of THE ENGINEER. <br /> <br />(6) <br /> <br />Work performed in connection with acquisition of easements beyond <br />the drafting of the geometry on the p~an sheets. <br /> <br />(7) <br /> <br />Inspection prior to expiration of the guaranty period of the Project and <br />preparation of a written report listing discrepancies between <br />guaranties and performance when requested by THE CITY. <br /> <br />(8) Preparation of Assessment Roll and Assessment Hearing notices. <br /> <br />(9) <br /> <br />Providing services as an expert witness for THE CITY in connection <br />with litigation or other proceedings involving the project. <br /> <br />Special Consultant8 may be utilized by THE ENGINEER when required by the <br />complex or specialized nature of the Project and when authorized in writing <br />by THE CITY such as exploratory soil borings to determine subsurface <br />conditions. <br /> <br />THE ENGINEER agrees to perform the following work as 6~n~ral Enqineerin.q <br />Services: <br /> <br />General: THE ENGINEER shall serve as THE CITY's professional represen- <br />tative in performing engineering functions as directed in writing by the City <br />Clerk for work including, but not limited to, the following: <br /> <br />(1) Plat review. <br /> <br />(2) Special engineering services. <br /> <br />(3) Research for and preparation of technical correspondence. <br /> <br />(4) <br /> <br />Participating in meetings and conferences involving engineering <br />questions not associated with work done under Section II.B. <br /> <br />Basic Services of the Engineer: The work shall include the performance of <br />specific services as directed and the furnishing of at least one (1) reproducible <br />copy of an instrument of record describing the conclusions, recommen- <br />dations, or engineering observations made as a result of performing the <br />general engineering services. <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br /> <br />
