I <br />! <br /> <br />Councilmcmbcr <br />its adoption-'- <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #92-06- <br /> <br />A RESOL~TION ADOPTING FINDINGS OF FACT # RELATING TO BRIAN <br />SOHN'S REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO CONSTRUCT AN <br />ACC~gS~ORY STRUCTURE LARGER THAN CITY CODE ALLOWS <br />(Draft Date 6/3/92) <br /> <br />o <br /> <br /> o <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />11. <br /> <br />12. <br /> <br />13. <br /> <br />That Brian Sohns, hereinafter referred as "Applicant", has properly applied for a <br />condi~ona! use permit to construct an accessory sunacture larger than City Code allows. <br />That Se Applicant appeared before the Planning and Zoning Commission for a public <br />hearirig pUirsuant to Section 9.03.04 of the Ramsey City Code on June 2, 1992, and that <br />the public heating was properly advertised and that the minutes of said public hearing are <br />hereby incorporated by reference. <br /> <br />That t~he sU, bject property is generally known as 17958 Fluorine Street N.W. and is legally <br />described as follows: <br /> <br /> , Loi 1, Block 5, Ford Brook Es. tare_s, Anoka County, Minnesota <br /> <br />That thee subject property is approximately .85 acres in size. <br />That th, e su~bject property is zoned R-1 Rural Residential. <br /> <br />Thatt§e sUn'ounding properties are also zoned R-1 Rural Residential. <br />That: a~co~ding to Section 9.11.02, subd. 12, the subject parcel is restricted to a total of <br />1,48_8_~qu~e feet of garage and accessory structure space and the proposed accessory <br />garag~on t,he property is restricted to a maximum of 716 square feet. <br /> <br />That, the Applicant is proposing to construct an accessory garage that measures 1,064 <br />square'ifc, eti which exceeds the maximum size allowed for any single accessory structure by <br />348 sqimre ifeet and the total allowable garage and accessory structure space on the property <br />by 24g squhre feet. <br /> <br />That the A!Pplicant has stated that the purpose for exceeding the allowable garage and <br />acccssq~rY Smacture space on the property is to accommodate the indoor storage of three (3) <br />classicicars:~ and personal lawn and recreational equipment. <br />That the APplicant has stated that the proposed accessory structure will be constructed of <br />materiils similar in appearance to the principal structure on the property. <br /> <br />That off numerous occasions, the City of Ramsey has granted approval for the construction <br />of acc*ssory structures larger than allowed by City Code in the R- 1 Rural Residential. <br /> <br />That on a couple of occasions, the City of Ramsey denied requests to construct accessory <br />structures larger than City Code allowed because of the excessive accessory structure size <br />being ~oP6sed or excessively large accessory structures already existing on the property. <br />That the prOposed use will not adversely impact traffic in the area. <br /> <br /> <br />
