Wetland No. 729 at RAMSEY MEADOWS Dear Mr. Hovey: Enclosed, please find 2 copies of the Preliminary Plat of RAMSEY MEADOWS, dated April 3, 1992 and revised May 8, 1992. As I mentioned to you over the telephone, on May 6, 1992, I measured the elevation of the water in D.N.R. Wetland No. 729 and found that it was at elevation 859.9 feet N.G.V.D. 1929. This appears to be the ordinary high water level for this wetland. On May 6, I resurveyed the location of the 860 foot contour line and added it to the Preliminary Plat. The original topographical survey for this site was done last winter and a portion of the wetland boundary was located incorrectly due to snow cover. As you can see, I have removed 2 lots from the subdivision and moved proposed 150th Lane as far south as possible to minimize the amount of fill that will be necessary within the wetland. After reviewing this information, if you are in agreement with the wetland boundaries as shown on this plan, please send a letter to the City of Ramsey to that effect. The Preliminary Plat will go before the Ramsey City Council on May 26, 1992. If this plan is approved as is, there will be no need to place fill within either wetland for the creation of building pads. It will be necessary to fill approximately 5,500 square feet of Wetland No. 729 for the construction of 150th Lane NW. The developer is prepared to construct wildlife ponds outside of the present wetlands to mitigate the loss of this wetland. We will prepare the necessary permit applications as soon as possible and forward them to you. If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact me.
