Jankowski, City Engineer Background~ The annual att~eet maintenance program is intended to meet the routine maintenance needs of the C~ty s street syztern on a periodic five to seven year interval. On December[~ 10; i1991 the Road and Bridge Committee was presented with an overview of the 1992 progra~ and recommended that a feasibility study outlining costs and assessments be prepared. On February ~1, 1~92 the feasibility study was presented to the City Council and a public hearing date was set f~ th~ project. On March 10, ~992 public hearings were held on the ten individual projects that constitute the 1992 street programl Public comments were received for several of these projects. On May 12, 1§ 72 t~he 60 day period for petitioning against the improvement projects passed and no petitions of' Ol: )oS~tion were received. The City Council passed resolutions directing plans and specifications beiprepared. On May 14, 1~92 t~e Road and Bridge Committee met to review the comments made at the public hearing and St f£~[iresponses. A summary of these comments are contained in the minutes of the Road andBrk ~ ~t3)mmittee. One result of the public hearing comments was to delete a portion of proposed Pro. :t ,6~92-02, Brookview Estates and White Pines Estates. The area of this project north of Rum '1 .ive~ Hills Golf Course will be deleted from the 1992 Sealcoating Program and will be proposed ][o i an ~verlay under the 1993 program. This modification will reduce the total project cost from $15!~,,692 to $139,285. The change will also reduce the assessments to the remaining properties in P tojex~t g92-02 from $132 per umt to $118 per umt. Recommenld:~tior~: It is Staff's r{ :orrtmendation that the enclosed resolutions be adopted accepting plans and specifications ~,nd ~thorizing the solicitation of bids.
