ICity. It shall be unlawful to cover the sanitary sewer service line <br /> iuntil an inspection has been completed to insure that a proper and <br /> !suitable connection has been made. <br /> <br /> Subd' 2. Applicatlon For Service <br /> <br />~a.. The owner of a dwelling, building, other structure or property <br /> ~here cesspools or septic tanks have been in existence prior to <br /> ionstruction of a sanitary sewer shall connect with the public <br /> anitary sewer when such cesspools and septic tanks are in need <br /> of repair, reconstruction or pumping, or within two (2) years of <br /> '~he date that municipal sanitary sewer service is available to the <br /> 'premises, whichever is first to occur. Any property owner who <br /> Fan demonstrate to the Council that hookup to municipal sewer is <br /> ~hot feasible due to distance, to topography or pending land use <br /> .change shall not be required to hookup at that specific time. <br /> '~.owever, hookup may be required in the future upon change of <br /> Circumstances. <br /> <br /> No buildings iocated on property lying outside the limits of the City <br /> ~hall be connected to the City sanitary sewer system without first <br /> ~having a resolution by the City or township in whose jurisdiction <br /> ~he property lies stating that said City or township has no <br /> ~bjection to such connection. <br /> <br />c. The City shall make every effort to design the sewage collection <br />~ystem to accommodate gravity flow to the system from adjacent <br />l~roperties. However, in instances it may be technically or <br />~conomically infeasible to provide gravity service to every <br />i jtructure In such cases, the property owner shall furnish and <br />~nstall a means of lifting the sewage for discharge into the <br />~anitary sewer. Such system shall be reviewed and accepted by <br />~ l~he City. The cost of installation, operation and maintenance of <br />, ~uch system shall be the responsibility of the property owner. <br /> <br />SuIXt. 3. Sewage Disposal <br /> <br />~. Fc shall be unlawful for any person to place, deposit or permit to be <br />~ .deposited in any unsanitary manner upon public or private <br /> l~roperty within the City or in any area under the jurisdiction of <br />~ the City, human or animal excrement, garbage or other <br />: objectionable waste. <br /> <br />b' I~ shall be unlawful for any person to discharge into any natural <br /> o~tlet within the City or in any area under the jurisdiction of the <br /> C~ity any sanitary sewage, industrial wastes or other polluted <br /> Waters. <br /> <br />Page 9 <br /> <br /> <br />
