The purpose of the meeting w~is to[discuss 1992 wages and benefits for exempt employees. City Admihistrator Schroeder explained the plan to the exempt employees that were present stating Cit~ Co.flncil's intent to include performance, length of position tenure and internal class and ~xte~,nal market comparisons. Employees then asked questions and voiced concerns ~gar4ing the plan. Another mgetirlg has been scheduled for May 12, 1992 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the 1992 wages and berie~fits for exempt employees. It was agreed that the exempt employees will receive mo__ ~!e information, and answers to the their questions prior to the scheduled meeting. A Negotiating d2ommittee meeting was held at 4:00 p.m. on April 21, 1992 at Ramsey City Hall withid, oun~ilmembers Beyer, Hardin and Peterson in attendance. The purpose of the meeting wa to ~liscuss 1992 wages and benefits for the AFSCME bargaining unit. City Adrair istr~tor Schroeder explain the City Council's rationale for the rejection of the latest AFS~ .'MI~ proposal. The proposal was rejected because it did not include any consideration for performance. It was also market driven without the primary consideraii{in b~ing internal comparison as mandated by the State's comparable worth law. The Negoti~itingiCommittee resubmitted the management plan. The AFSC~t~)rgaining unit has scheduled a meeting for April 30, 1992 and will let City Administm~r S~hroeder know their decision on May 1, 1992.
