De~achment/Annexations Procedure <br />DATE: ~AP~il 1, 1992 <br /> <br />As reques~ed.~ I have reviewed the procedures for detachment and <br />annexati0~ o~ land from One municipality to the other. This <br />procedur_e~is~overned by MSA §414.061, a copy of which is attached. <br />When th~r~,~ Ss joint agreement of the two municipalities, the <br />process ~i~ ~ather simple. As the statute indicates, the main <br />document ~s ia joint resolution by the two communities, which <br />resolutiO~ ~s then filed with the Municipal Commission for <br />approva!i3 I have attached a sample resolution which resolution can <br />be used f~r {his purpose. <br /> <br />I spoke w~thlthe Municipal Commission office and was advised that <br />the fitin~ f~e is $100.00 for each parcel of land. In addition, <br />a legal d~cfliption is required together with revised City maps for <br />each ci~ylish~Wing, i'_~ the detachment/annexation. <br /> <br /> <br />
