The City of'l~ ms¢y ordains: ~ : AMENDMENT Section 9.12 &f ~¢ Ci~ C~e is amend~ to read as follows: 9.12 SIGN8 The pu~o~e 0f this ordinance is to protect and promote the general welfare, health, safety and oMer ~n t~e Ci~ of Ramsey t~ough the establishment of a comprehensive ~d imp~al series of stand~d~, ~eg~lations and proc~ures governing the erection, use ancot display of devices, signs or symbola ~seming as a visual communicative me~a to persons situated within or upon public fighN~.Ways or prope~ies. The provisions of this ordinance are intended to encourage creativity, [:~o~able de~ee of fre~om of choice, an oppo~unity for effective co~unication and a sens0~ ~f ~ncem for the visual menities on the pm of those designing, displaying or o~e~se ufil~ifi~ n~ comunicafive m~a for ~e ~s re~lat~ by this ordnance, wh~e at · e s~e ~S~ng ~at ~e public heM~ ~d welf~e is not end~ger~. 9.12.02 D~INITIONS Abandone~}gig~ means a sign which no longer identifies or adve~ises a bona fide business, lessor, se~c~, owner, pr~uct, or activin, ancot for which no legM owner c~ be found.
