An Airport Commission for ,the City of <br />ttt~msey is hereby established. The/Commission shall be the City s Airport <br />Commission. / <br />2.06.02 Purpose. The purpo~ o£ the Commission is to study the feasibility of <br />the presently privately owned/Gateway North Airport becoming a City owned <br />municipal airport. The study/should include consideration and findings on all <br />aspects and ramifications of//reating Gateway North into a City-owned municipal <br />airport including but not limited to the following subjects: <br /> <br /> a. The economic benefit and/or detriment to be derived from ha~ing <br /> a municipal airport in the City. <br /> <br /> b. The expense necessary to create Gateway North into a municipal <br /> airport. <br /> <br /> c. The alternative financing and sources of revenue available to <br /> create a municipal airport. <br /> <br /> d. The projected ongoing maintenance expense to the City of a <br /> municipal airport. <br /> <br /> · e. The projected operating revenues from a municipal airport. <br /> f. The Health and Safety impact of a municipal airport. <br /> <br /> g. The potential educational opportunities that can be derived from a <br /> mun/cipal airport. <br /> <br /> h. The function of a Fixed Base Operator at a munic/pal airport. <br /> <br /> i. The effect of a municipal airport on exSsting land uses in the <br /> vicinity of Gateway North Airport. <br /> <br />2.06.03 Composit~on~ <br /> <br /> Subdivision 1. The .Airport Commission shall consist of nine voting <br />members who shall be alJpointed by the City Council and may be removed by <br />majority vote of the Council. <br /> <br /> SubcL 2. Ail appointees shall hold their offices until their successors <br />are appointed and qualified. Vacancies during the term shall be filled by the <br />Council for the unexpired portion of the term.
