The tanker would be used <br /> currently onl~ fo~ emergency situations by the Fire Department. <br /> <br /> Motion by B mrdtnember Kapler and seconded by Boardmember Simpson that the Fire Department <br /> will not put, ~on~y into the repair of the Public Works tanker to make it more "road worth}," for the <br /> Fire Departn ent (other than gas, lube & oil and related expenditures). Absent: CouncilmemberPeterson. <br />DiscussionRegarding Request Responding to <br /> the <br /> and <br /> Purpose <br /> of <br /> [ R{scue Calls <br /> <br /> Chief Griffin stated that the Fire Department has indicated they would like to respond to personal <br /> injury and~ h~,~art a~ttack victims. He met with Police Chief Auspos and Mr. Auspos' concern is not <br /> wanting 20 l:!eop~e or so to show up at the scene. Chief Griffin stated that there would be about <br /> five at a time[who could respond. Chief Griffen felt this woule better the relationship between the <br /> Police DePar~er!rt and the Fire Department. He informed the Board that Central Communications <br /> will tone ~egFire Department as Ramsey Rescue, followed by the address to respond to, the <br /> nature of the~ and where an ambulance is being dispatched from. Ramsey Rescue will only <br /> respond if ~ ambulance is being dispatched. If the ambulance is requested to cancel, Ramsey <br /> <br /> Rescue will~b~ nOtified to do the same. If the ambulance arrives first and the paramedics feel that <br /> no further a~sl. stan~e is necessar¢,, the), will request that the officer cancel Ramsey Rescue. <br /> <br /> Motion by B ~qgrd~ember Kapler and seconded by Boardmember Simpson to recommend that City <br /> Council appr~e thee request to respond to rescue calls. <br /> Further discuisi°fi: Councilmember Zimmerman suggested as much information as possible be <br /> submitted to~ae City Council including a letter from Chief Auspos with his comments.
