Also included will be picnicking, canoe access, nature areas and restoration of field crops and prairies, 17,000 feet of nature walkway, 9,400 feet of 'ki ~_~ area for the trail head, canoe camping at the 70 acre Cloquet Island and a nct~Eary at the 9.5 acre Foster Island. ~ont[mplated that the six-year time frame will likely need to be extended based upon ilifl~es and that upon final completion of the regional park, they estimate we will ~imalely 60,000 visitors annually. The Anoka County Parks Department is desirous t,g t~e Metropolitan Council to gain their approval of this park area as a regional Je Ca~se with Rum River Central Park which will enhance their ability to gain funding >p~ent. The Parks Department presentation to the City Council is with the intent of val.~from the Ramsey City Council of this development as a regional ,facility. It id t~at such status and subsequent development should improve Ramsey s visibility iroP~litan Area, but at the same time a significant portion of the 60,000 annual visitor t, im?, act transportation concerns by the Metropolitan Council on Highway gl0.
