At the meeting ~e fas no quorum nor was there at the November 1991 meeting. The December 1991 meeting [~s '~t~ four of the six members, but voting by a ballot process resulted in a two'two tie. Member~ t~resCnt at this, the January 1992 meeting, were Chairman Ron Hetland, Jill Prall and Don Lok er:0eft at 8:35). Much of the discussion centered around attendance and participation~ )uting Commission input, the two remaining Commissioners determined that in fairness, a r~ nmi mdation for appointment by consensus should be forwarded to City Council. If for no othe~r~ ~aSt.n, the logical candidate of the four applicants would be Ms. Jackie Florentius. Ms. Florenti~ tas l~een involved with the Commission prior to seeking appointment and has been the only emac[it rte t ~ attend all of the last three frustrating meetings. Ms. Florentius appears to be very qualifie2i. InCidentally, this meeting was the date of her wedding anniversary and she still attended. ~ , For your infO! macon, the Commission intends in February to consider an internal policy addressing afit, mat~c resignation. The policy suggested at this meeting was one that might read such that thr '.~ :onSecutive absences by a Commissioner from duly called Commission meetings will be consid¢ ed ~utomatic resignation unless present at the subsequent meeting and at that time a request for re~ tat~ent will be made. Also, for Feb~ar~b Chairman Hetland intends to have each of the Commissioners including himself address thee Commission detailing their desire to serve and what they expect their involvement td~!ent~dl. Mr. Hetland also stated that it is his intent to assign each Commissioner a proposed Cit~ ~ou~cil priority "A" goal to track or assist in the implementation of that priority goal.
