Backgrourid: <br /> <br />Case #3 <br /> <br /> RAMSEY LIONS SPONSORSHIP <br /> OF SENIOR CITIZEN PROGRAMS <br />By: Sandra Ashley Helling, Finance Officer <br /> <br />Very recedltly ithe Ramsey Lions became aware that expenditures for Senior <br />Citizens P~0gr~ms do not meet the lawful purpose guidelines of State Statutes. <br />As a conSeqUence, they are asking the Ramsey City Council to accept <br />contnbuboCs.~and adm~nmter the disbursements for the Senior Citizen <br />Programs' ~Po~sored by the Ramsey Lions. The Lions will continue to plan for, <br />staff, and ~oo!dinate these activites. <br /> <br />Jerry Haml~et (Jr the Ramsey Lions has advised that their national orgranization <br />provides liability coverage for all programs sponsored by the Lions. For those <br />programs :t,hrat: Ray present a specific liability, such as the hiring of buses for a <br />holiday lights itour, the transportation providers must also present proof of <br />insurance. [ <br />Mr. Hamlei ha~s been asked to be at tonight's meeting in the event of any <br />questions'ybu ~ay have. <br /> <br />Staff Fled°mmendation: <br /> <br />Staff re¢°n~mepds the City of Ramsey accept the financial administration for <br />the Senioq Ci!izen Programs sponsored by the Ramsey Lions.
