After reviewing this request, I contacted Peter Turok, Executive Vice President of the CtlaJj'nb~r, and asked for some particulars as to the cost of the publication and tl3e a~oUnt of financial support they are looking for from each city. The Cham$or ~stimates production of 35,000 magazines for the 1992 issue, and in anticipation! of increased quantity and printing costs, the Chamber's 1@92 budget inClCdo~ a $3,000 expenditure in excess of revenue for the 't~£ Official Magazine b~f ~noka Area Chamber of Commerce. Peter Turok has advised the actual cos~' n~)w estimated for 1992 will result in a $6,000 expenditure in excess of :levehue, or a $3,000 shortfall. This is primarily due to the Chamber's decision to m~ke the City directory a pull-out "centerfold." Peter Turoks~ated that if each city (Ramsey, Andover, Anoka, Champlin and Dayton) cor~tr~uted $500.00, the Chamber will make up the difference; but in any case,, !he Chamber intends to proceed with the lay-out change and would find the m~ney~ somewhere if cities were not in a position to participate. The Chamber ~ill be looking at a similar shortfall for the 1993 publication, and will be aS~ng icities for financial support in 1993. Peter will be sending out a request shortly.
