CASE Background PURCHASE OF LOADER FORKS AND SHOP HOIST FOR PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT By: Merle Mevissen, Public Works Supervisor In the 1992 Budget, $3,800.00 was budgeted for a set of loader forks with a quick tach coupler system for ol!r w~J~eel loader. We also have $600.00 budgeted for a shop hoist for lifting equipment in ihe ~.hop. I received a price quote from Sweeney Brothers Tractor, Inc., the dealer for American [Coi~.bler Systems, which is the type of coupler we have on our loader. The price quote is as follows[ ~ Cost $3,490.00 Freight 300.00 · Tax~ 226.85 i Subtotal $4,016.85 ; Replacement Fund 200,84 r f Total $4,217.69 Northern HY~aulics has a shop hoist listed in their catalog for $255.00 which will serve our purpose quite nicely. We have amended this to 20 years here. Total ¢~,t at~ter tax, freight and replacement allocation of the two purchases is $4,502.85 which is $102,[85 .dyer the $4,400 budgeted. It is therefore recommended that Council complete the purchase b~ allOcating the overage from the street department supplies budget as occurred with the dump tm¢l~Pur.~hase. Budget Com~nittee Action: Motion to reaomm~nd that City Council authorize the Public Works Department to purchase loader forks from SW~enejg Brothers Tractor, Inc. at a cost of $4,016.85 and a shop hoist from Northern HydrauliCs at ~t co~t of $271.58 and that said authorization occur by resolution amending the budget pursuar/~ to !he above.
