The intent of this memorandum is to <br />review eity~ wide training, dues, memberships, subscriptions, and book and pamphlet <br />requests as ~veIllas to reduce the amount of the requests by $7,608 in training, and $5,526 <br />in dues, me~be~ships and subscriptions. <br /> <br />1. Cut,he,CMA National and State in 1130 Administration. Savings $2,400. <br />2. CutithelNew Legislation seminar for the Personnel Coordinator in 1130 <br /> Adn~ini:s~ration. There may be funds available from the performance evaluation <br /> trai~ng .hr the cultural and sensitivity training. If so, the seminar(s) could still be <br /> atte.~dedi. Savings $300. <br /> <br />3. Cut ~he MCMA Conference for Project Manager in 1191 - Planning and Zoning <br /> Department. Savings $600. <br /> <br />4. Cut the MN State Fire School for 10 to 5 in 2220 - Fire Department. Cut the <br /> Dul~lth Sectional Fire School for 6 to 3. Additional cuts to bring 1993 budget to <br /> $7,707 s~me level as in 1992. Training levels in 1990 and 1991 were $4,274 and <br /> $3,4 55 '~espectively. Savings $4,578. <br /> <br />5. Cut Engineering Department training budget to $400. Savings $590. <br /> <br /> Cut the Elgin Street <br />6. coupe t~at has been Sweeper Clinic for 2 in 3311 - Street Maintenance. This is a <br /> attended for the last three years. Savings $40. <br /> <br />7. Cut !he ~ublic Employee Safety and Health in 3311 - Street Maintenance. I believe <br /> this Is aduplication. Our loss control representatives may be able to provide some <br /> film~ and training at no or little cost. Savings $100. <br /> <br />8. RedUce t, he Dbase/Foxbase training in 1153 - Finance to $200. Savings $200. <br /> <br /> also behev, e that the dollars allocated for the performance rewew training and cultural and <br />sensitivity ~ain~ng should be put in a city-wide fund. As charges are made, the money <br />would be refll°Cfated back to the department. <br /> <br />Total Savings to Training: $8,808 <br /> <br /> <br />
