i By: Background: Case #4 City Special Revenue Fund #233 DNR Grant Fund Sandra Ashley Helling, Finance Officer This fund~ established in 1991, is used to account for all revenues and expenditures f~r grants awarded to the City of Ramsey by the DNR. To date the ' ~ '~ that will be accounted for in this fund. City has b%en awarded three grants The first ts the Community Tree Planting Grant which is nearing completion as to e×pendi~g the $4,975.00 grant funds for trees; however, the City's in-kind is a threeiiye~r program comprised of staff time and equipment costs. Bruce Bacon is c~rrehtly preparing a status report on this program. The second is' a Federal Challenge Grant administered by the DNR for a Comprehensive! Community Forestry Plan. This program is in process. It includes a ~tre~ inventory, development of an Oak Wilt Program, and review of the City'~I t~ee related ordinances. The maximum grant reimbursement is $5,000.00 ~o e~penditures for this grant have been made as of September 30, 1992. The third Rndilast grant achieved to date is for the Oak Wilt Suppression Gran~ whic~ h~s just been approved. This grant is basically a 50-50 grant wherein th~ City is eligible for up to $33,250.00 in grant dollars, and expenditur6s b~ the City, homeowners and developers for Oak Wilt Suppression qualify asl!thel in-kind. During October we have received several applications for inspec~ion~ from residents, but the weather will most likely limit 1992 efforts somewhat. No expenditures have been incurred as of September 30, 1992.
