Develop and recommend feasible progran'~s relative to the conservation of our <br />environment. <br /> <br /> Subd. 3. Economic Developmen! Commission. The primary objective of <br />the Economic Development Comn'nssion is to further the economic development of Ramse;' and <br />vicinily; to aid, assist and promote the growth, expansion and developmenl of business and <br />industrial concerns, including small business concerns in said area and thereby to contribute lo the <br />economic well-being of ti~e area as measured bv increased en'~ployment, payroll, business volume, <br />tax base and corresptmding factors. The Economic Developmem Commission shalt: <br /> <br /> a. Review state legislation and local ordinances in order to determine these <br /> regulations' in'mace of local economic development. The Commission shall <br /> advise the CiLv Council of new legislation and ordinances it would like ~o see <br /> adopted and/or amendments to the same which it feels will promote economic <br /> development. <br /> <br /> b. lVleet with and explore with local developers and business people to learn their <br /> concerns and receive their input as to how the economic climate can be <br /> improved, The Commission shall call upon and meet with elected and <br /> appointed stme and local officials along with other appropriate resources it <br /> deems necessaD' in order to accomplish its goal. <br /> <br /> Subd. 4, Fire Board. The primary ob. iec~ive of the Fire Board is to review <br />administrative and/or operational m.'tners relative to fire protection and ~o advise the Ci~), Counci) of <br />policy matters relevant to the fire safety function in Ramsey. The duties of the Fire Board shall be <br /> <br />a. Provide administrative assistance to the Fire Chief, promote communication <br /> within the Fire Department and between the Fire Department and other <br /> community )cadets. <br /> <br />b. Act as a selection board for the Fire Chief and make recommendations to the <br /> City Council. <br /> <br />c. Review Fire Department operation and assist the Fire Chief in determining <br /> possible areas of improvements. <br /> <br />d. Review and approve rules and regulations for the Fire Department. <br /> <br />e. Act as Fire Chief administratively in the absence of the Fire Chief. <br /> <br />f. Review Fire Department Officer appointment recommendations by ~he Fire <br /> Chief and make recommendations to the Council. <br /> <br /> Subd. 5. Horse Care Board. Thc primaD, o~ective of thc Horse Care Board <br />is to ad',,ise the City Council, other Ramsey advisor, commissions and boards, and Ramsey Cit.',, <br />Staff regarding matters relevant to the maintenance of horses on properties within the City of <br />Ramsey. The Horse Care Board is to assist in resolving complaints from those persons aggrieved <br />by horses, to investigate complaints, to advise horse owners against whom complaints have been <br />lodged and to recormmend to the City Council appropriate action. <br /> <br /> Subd. 6, Board of Adjustment nnd Appeals. The primary objective of the <br />Board of Adjustments and Appeals to review and approve/deny variances from the provisions of <br />the Zoning Chapter of the City Code where there is stfic~ enforcement would cause undue hardship <br />because of circumstances unioue to the individual propers)' under consideration. The Piannin~ and <br />Zoning Commission shall serve as the. Board of Adjustment and Appeals. <br /> <br /> <br />
