He disseminated copies of the 1993 goals and objectives written <br />by Staff and' at~kdd: that Council review them. Mr. Schroeder also handed out a list of items for <br />Council to gi{¢ '.~swers to such as what they would like the citizens to say where the City of <br />Ramsey is wi~ r~_.d to overall image of the City. (parks, transportation, etc.). He asked for "off <br />the top of yo~h~d" answers. <br />Councilmemb~r P~terson stated he feels this Council has been trying to anticipate what's going to <br />happen rather :~ha~ 'react after the fact. He stated there have been several chances to interact with <br />the communist s~h as the bike road-co, the expos, etc. <br /> [' <br /> '. ~ <br />A) Overallilrmge <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbert~ nI stated he talked with Chris Soderholm of the Water Control Corporation and he <br />mentioned he i~ hi[PpY the airport is gone. He had also stated that he had to do landscaping around <br />his business b~l j~:~t down the street is a business with junk around it and he is curious where the <br />City is going, i~ i!!S going to junk, then the Water Control Corporation is gone. Mayor Gilbertson <br />stated this Ci~h~,S~:to "clean up its crap" and added that this is the "worst place to do business". <br />He expressed qlis~ ~pointment that the City tells a business they have to landscape, etc. and then <br />two years lateriwh ~n they haven't done it the City doesn't do anything about it. <br />Councilmemb~r P~terson stated the City had chosen not to be aggressive as it hadn't had the <br />leadership in the ~ast. He also stated that for years it's been said that times are tough and the <br />business peopl~ s! t0uldn't be picked on.
